Michigan Corn is Almost Here

Each year at this time, I look forward to the sweet corn that will be coming. We get ours from a local farmer around the corner and I just can't wait. It's so YUMMY! I just want to eat it until I can't eat anymore! I might be retracting that statement after I get done putting up corn next week with a friend from down south but then again probably not. LOL! It is so delicious and so wonderful to see in one's freezer and enjoy during the cold months of winter - its like having summer time on your dinner plate.

Pool Time is Fun!

We had a great time at camp meeting at the Great Lakes Adventist Campground. We got a spot right next to Bruce and Billie way out in E loop. It worked out great for Logan and Sierra. They had fun going over to Grandpa and Grandma's and also playing in their pool. They both went to their meetings and Logan was so happy because he got to hold Healthy Bear at his meeting and open the mailbox. What great memories!

Summer Time

Summer is here and I realize that it's been 4 months since I have posted. I love summer and when I think of summer, I think of strawberries. We picked almost 50 quarts of those lovely berries on a beautiful day. They will be so yummy this winter.

Remembering Grandpa

It's been awhile since I have blogged but I couldn't pass up the chance to talk about my Grandpa Payne. He passed away this month and we will miss him very much. He was a very interesting man and had quite an interesting life. He served our country in WW II and was a POW. His stories of that time period are amazing. He enjoyed telling stories, and spending time with Grandma and his kids and grand kids and he even got to enjoy some great grand children. Grandpa was great at crocheting and made some beautiful things - I will always treasure my angel and table cloth runner that he made for me. We love you Grandpa!

Snow Day

Wyatt wanted to go out last night and work on his snow fort. Logan wanted to go too and so we dressed him up to go out - his first time in the snow with a snow suit on. It was cold so he didn't stay out too long but he did enjoy it.

My girl Sierra loves to help me cook in the kitchen. It is alot of fun to do this together. We are making gluten from a recipe that my friend Amy gave me. I forgot to take a picture of the finished product because it was so yummy we just dove in and ate it.

Well, we are back from our mission trip and it is good to be home again. We had quite the experience down in Mexico and I am glad that we went. There were ups and downs as usual on a mission trip but overall I was glad that my family was able to participate. The people are very beautiful and very friendly. They were so appreciative of our help. The weather was very warm with evenings getting cool. We had a lot going on all the time - we built two churches, added an addition onto one of the schools, did several VBS's and also the health expo's at various places. Several people in our group did get sick but with God's help most everyone was well before we left. It was touching to see the baptisms where people gave their lives to the Lord. We also had a fun day where we got to see some neat ruins in Mexico. Then it was time to pack up and get ready to come home!
